Happy Friday! One week closer to Winter Break!
I want to share this idea with you, just in case you’re looking for a new craft to do with your students around the holidays. I like this one because it doubles as a gift for the students’ families. We display them in the classroom for a short while and then they are sent home as a gift and keepsake that can be taken out and enjoyed each Christmas for years to come.
The students color and cut out their elf outfits.
I take their picture and print it (approximate size is 8x10). I also smooth out any rough edges on their cutting and assemble the elves.
Miss Lori does the laminating and cutting out.
Along with the elf, this holiday card and an ornament with their school picture (made by the teacher) go into the gift bag. I ask parents to donate medium-sized gift bags so that we don’t have to buy them all. Tissue paper conceals the gifts inside, giving the kids a chance to get their gift under the tree without their family seeing what’s inside.
Miss Lori and I enjoy helping the students prepare these simple yet precious gifts and our students are always so proud and excited to take them home. Plus, there’s nothing cuter than a whole class walking out at dismissal time with their gift bags in hand.
You’re welcome!
I agree! Fun to do with adult faces too.
