Links for Week 35 of Busy Bee Kindergarten
So as not to overwhelm you, I will send you fewer emails, but at least one email each week will have several links to different things you might want to read about or view. This way, you can stay apprised of everything that’s available to you but you won’t necessarily be “bothered” with anything you don’t currently have an interest in or don’t have time for. And, if you save your emails, you can access everything whenever it’s convenient for you.
The 34th Week of School - I’ll repeat the links here just in case you didn’t see them last week.
100% At- or Above-Level on End-of-Year Testing - My end-of-year (EOY) test scores show that all 27 students in my class are at- or above-level. Four students are “green” (at level) and 23 are “blue” (above level). The goal is a composite score of 122. My students ranged from 124 to 287. Read all about the subtests with explanations and analysis. Also, links to results from previous school years.
Heart Words - This is a good read if you are just learning about heart words—what they are and how to teach them. There is a list of words showing the hearts on “the hard parts to remember by heart” and an explanation of one way we practice them to help students orthographically map them.
Video: Word List Testing and Phonological Awareness Training in May - A reminder that my 34 word lists (which you’ll see in the video) are free to everyone. All of my other materials (and there’s a lot) come with your paid subscription. My materials are all in Google folders. I give you access to various folders—whatever you want—and as the folders are added to or the materials improved upon, the updates come to you automatically. You can also take any of my documents, make your own copy and then modify them any way you want to. Those with a paid subscription also get a copy of detailed lesson plans every week. The plans are full of links to videos, brain breaks, photos, and materials I’ve created. You can also ask me anything. That’s right—your personal consultant. I’ve helped many teachers with their schedules, interventions, behavior, motivating students, you name it. I’m here for you!
Week 35 of School - New Links and Descriptions
Video: The Kindergarten Tea Party - Even if you have no plans to ever host a kindergarten tea party, I encourage you to watch this short video and enjoy the precious moments.
Video: What’s The Buzz? Read Alouds - A short video explaining how I organize my read alouds and why I have the ones I do as well as the conversation with a subscriber that prompted the video.
Paid subscribers, any materials you see in use in these videos can be requested. Just email me at missbusybeekindergarten@gmail.com and I’ll get the links to you. Also, paid subscribers should be on the lookout for weekly lesson plans that include a video of me summarizing the plans and talking about what’s included and WHY.
As always, let me know what you’re thinking and what you need.
