So much to think about when it comes to room arrangement. This post will be one I return to again and again. I had to leave my very large classroom in June and will be moving into a much smaller space this fall. My janitor just finished waxing my floor this past week, so yesterday I went in, and I too stood for many long stretches, hand on my chin, pondering where everything will go. I wish I had the large space you have! Our building is "old school" (pardon the pun) it was built in the late 20s/early 30s, back when classrooms were rows of desks & teacher taught whole group at the black chalkboard. These rooms with small footprints make it challenging to create a 21st century classroom!

Loving this summer PD we are constantly getting from you!! It inspires me to go back, watch and listen again, and reflect. When I get a chance, I love to go back and see what I missed over the last year! I always learn something new and add to my list of "to dos" for this year! AMAZING!! Thank you Randee!

Oh my gosh, SO MUCH standing around and thinking/visualizing when you move to a new classroom. I just got the message that our rooms are clean and ready to go, so I'll be going in soon to set the furniture up. I like to get that done before the official teacher work days in August. Those work days are mostly about visiting and catching up and going out to lunch. :)

I'm surprised your room is small because those old building usually have huge classrooms. Our building is pretty old, too, built in the 60s, I believe. Good luck with the setup! I'm sure you'll be switching these around several times throughout the school year!

Hi Lynn,

With a lot of these posts, I am learning something new too! And it works great for me to stash my thinking/ideas on my Goals for 2022-2023. You'll have to keep me apprised of what you end up implementing and how it works for you. You know I'll do the same. :)

Thanks for your comment and for reading!

Great, Lynn! I’m glad you are making the most of it. Some teachers don’t want to think about this stuff during the summer but, for me, summer is the best time for reflection, deep thinking, and planning for next year.
