Great video! This really helps me understand your Fast Facts work with the kids. Have you done any videos of your teaching during number corner? I would love to see the teaching that supports this work!

I have one number corner video that I will post at some point. Next school year, I hope to incorporate more math into the blog.

I agree with your principal! You are a master teacher! Congratulations on the wonderful feedback from your principal. It’s nice when our admins acknowledge all the hard work we are doing!

Hello. This is a great idea! Where can I find the math cards the students are using? I have the paid subscription but can't seem to find it.

Could you tell a little bit about the number collections you reference?

Sure! They start with rapid reading numbers (1-5. 6-10, 0-10, teens, 20s, 30s) and then move on to a nice progression of facts that kindergartners should know (+0, -0, +1, -1, +2, -2, addition within five, subtraction within five, 10+ some more for teen numbers), and then beyond for those students who are ready (addition and subtraction within ten, doubles, combinations that make ten, and then adding and subtracting one and two from double digit numbers). There are 26 charts. I forget that some readers may not have seen earlier posts about this; I should have included this info in the post. I apologize!

Oh Im sorry, I meant that you said the kids had learned what they were working on earlier that morning at the number corner. I was just curious about the collections you mentioned doing in the number corner.

Oh, I see, yes! We call it the collector (that's what Bridges math calls it). I am planning on doing a post (probably this summer) that has all the monthly collectors I do for the year. I modified Bridges' ideas because they weren't fun enough and weren't daily. Daily is the key. The students really enjoy them and they have been quite effective.

Ok! Thank you!

Also… I noticed that some of the students looked at the equation and only said the answer, well another student recited the full equation. Do you have a preference of one over the other?

Preferably NOT say the equation due to time constraints, but some kids need to so it is fine.
