Hi Vicki, yes, it will be interesting to see how I feel in July. That is when I am always itching to get back to teaching and to contributing to society. I absolutely love my job still, but I am really tired because of teaching full-time and running this blog as well. So happy to hear that you also have a tea party. For our hats, we take four pieces of tissue paper and stack them together. One adult presses the four pieces of tissue paper down on the girl’s head (thereby making it round in shape) while the other adult wraps masking tape around their head about three times. You want to wrap the tape pretty tightly so that the hat will fit tightly and stay on . After the tape is on, the first adult can let go. I then trim all of the corners off of the four layers of tissue paper, rounding the edges. The other adult can make sure that no hair is getting in the way so that you don’t accidentally cut their hair. Then, you will scrunch the layers up a bit so that the hat looks fluffier and all of the different colors can be seen. You have to make a tissue paper flower, which I cannot explain here, and then fold the front of the hat back a bit and staple the flower on. I would Google how to make a tissue paper tea party hat and see if you can find the video that we watched to learn how to do it. Also, I’m sure you can find a video that will show you how to make the flowers. Good luck!

We just had are first Tea party for our moms for Mother's Day. So special and fun. Our kiddos made hats, necklaces and corsages for their moms. I love your little girls tissue paper hats! How do you make them? If you don't mind sharing. Congratulations on retiring. I am sure it is bitter sweet. I keep going back and forth on retiring. I am ready now but by the end of summer I can't wait to get back to my kiddos.
