Hi Randy! Just subscribed and love how clear and focused all the entires that I’ve read so far have been! Thank you so much!
I have a question about the weekly themes. I’ve read your schedule… do you do most of your week’s theme related work during read aloud time? I saw you try to incorporate it a little during math and brain breaks, if possible. But is real aloud the bulk of it?
I thought I replied to you, Shasha, but don’t see it here so I will reply again. Read aloud is the bulk and the base of our weekly themes, for sure. We also tie in brain breaks, fun activities or projects, some math, vocabulary, and writing topics every day. I love how the students’ background knowledge and vocab grows throughout the week and how the themes build on each other from week to week.

Thanks so much! This is very helpful!
Glad to hear it! I know our schedules are all different, but I always get ideas when I see what other teachers are doing throughout the day.
