Math Year-Long Plan, Assessment Appointments, and Counting School Days

Hello!

Open the video if you want a glimpse at my Math Year-Long Plan. I worked on this all last year, slowly, week by week. You can use it to enhance what you’re already doing in math or as a great foundation if you’re not sure what you’re doing and don’t have a math program (or one you like to use or are required to use, anyway). Access to this document is available with a paid subscription.

And, a couple of other things that are timely:

Assessment Appointments - Learn how we meet and briefly assess each student before school even starts; what activities we do with them; and, what forms we have parents fill out while there and what we are sure to talk to them about while we have them one-on-one.

Video: First Day of Busy Bee Kindergarten - Several of you asked for it and I did my best to not only teach kindergarten on the first day but to video as much of it as possible for YOU!

Counting the School Days - Counting the school days is a quick and easy activity that requires little prep and planning and is one of the best ways to introduce, reinforce, and practice numbers, counting, value, and place value. Get some ideas for setting up your math gathering/calendar area as well as how to start your daily math activities on the first day/week of school.
